Neeraj Chopra, India's star javelin thrower, will compete against Anderson Peters and Julian Weber in the Diamond League Final in Zurich, Switzerland, on August 28. According to the schedule, he is expected to compete for the title at 11:15 PM IST (Indian Standard Time) on Thursday.
Chopra, a two-time Olympic medallist, missed two legs of the series in Silesia and Brussels. He won the Diamond League trophy in 2022 and finished second in 2023 and 2024, competing only in Doha and Paris events.
He secured fourth place qualification for this year's Diamond League Final after participating in two of the four qualifying legs.

The 27-year-old world champion achieved a throw of 90.23m at the Doha leg in May, surpassing the 90m mark but finished second behind Germany's Weber. He later won the Paris leg in June with an 88.16m throw.
Five other throwers qualified alongside Chopra are Andrian Mardare, defending champion Peters, Keshorn Walcott, Weber, and Julius Yego. Swiss athlete Simon Wieland joined as the host nation's entry.
Chopra's most recent competition was at the NC Classic in Bengaluru on July 5, where he won with an 86.18m throw. This season, he has competed in six events, securing four victories and two second-place finishes.
He will defend his world title at the upcoming World Championships in Tokyo from September 13 to 21.
The Diamond League is a premier one-day meeting series in global athletics. The Final features winner-takes-all competition across 32 events, with champions receiving the Diamond Trophy and a World Championships wild card entry.
The men's javelin final on August 28 offers prize money of USD 30,000 for the winner, USD 12,000 for second place, and USD 7,000 for third place. This year features increased prize money for winners in eight of the 32 events.
