Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara, starring newcomers Ahaan Panday andAnneet Padda, has been one of the biggest surprise blockbusters of 2025. After setting the box office on fire in its opening weeks and quickly racing past several big releases, the film is now showing clear signs of exhaustion. On its 39th day (sixth Monday), Saiyaara managed to collect only Rs 25 lakh(early estimates), which marks not only a steep fall of over 60% from Sunday’s Rs 80 lakh collection but also its lowest single-day collection to date.

From blockbuster opening to slowing momentum

The journey of Saiyaara has been nothing short of spectacular. The film opened to a thunderous Rs 21.5 crore on its first Friday and kept gaining momentum over the weekend, peaking at Rs 35.75 crore on its first Sunday. By the end of its opening week, it had amassed Rs 172.75 crore, an extraordinary number for a romantic drama led by fresh faces. The stronghold continued in its second week as the film added another Rs 107.75 crore, largely powered by family audiences and repeat viewings. At this stage, the film looked unstoppable, and trade analysts started pegging it as one of the top Hindi films of the year.

Later weeks show heavy drops

However, from the third week onwards, Saiyaara began to show a steady decline.
Week three brought in Rs 28.25 crore, a steep fall of more than 70% compared to its second week. By the fourth week, the numbers shrank further to Rs 14.10 crore, indicating the film had entered its slowdown phase, especially with newer releases .The fifth weekend saw the film earn just Rs 2.95 crore, and though it still managed a decent jump on Saturdays and Sundays, the weekday figures became alarmingly low. Entering the sixth week, the Friday-to-Sunday trend gave it a slight push where it collected Rs 1.87 crore.

A big hit despite slowdown

Despite this slowdown, Saiyaara’s overall performance remains remarkable. With a 39-day total of Rs 327.90 crore (India net), the film has already established itself as the second biggest Hindi hit of 2025, behind only Vicky Kaushal and Akshaye Khanna’s Chhaava. While the collections are now trickling in, the film has more than done its job—launching Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda successfully, cementing Mohit Suri’s hold on the romantic genre, and proving once again that heartfelt love stories can still rule the box office.News has also begun to trickle that Aneet has already signed her next film with Aditya Chopra to be directed by Maneesh Sharma of Band Baaja Baaraat and Tiger 3 fame.
