The father of Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown has been accused of attempted murder in connection to a stabbing Wednesday night in Las Vegas, according to multiple reports.
Quenton M. Brown, 57, was arrested Thursday morning and booked into the Clark County Detention Center. He made his first court appearance Thursday afternoon and is due back Tuesday. His bail bond was set at $300,000.
Las Vegas police said the stabbing occurred after two people got into an argument in a parking lot. Brown allegedly dinged the victim's car when he got out of his SUV, leading to the argument. According to the police report, Brown allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times after his back was turned.
The victim was taken to a local hospital and is recovering from surgery, officials said.
Brown's attorney said his client was attacked first and the stabbing was in self-defense.
A four-time All-Star and 2024 Finals MVP, Jaylen Brown has played for the Celtics since being drafted in 2016.
