This decision includes signing a Host Collaboration Agreement and providing financial support to Gujarat. The Games, featuring 72 nations, aim to boost tourism, create jobs, and inspire young athletes, utilising facilities like the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the submission of a bid to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The decision, announced on August 27, includes approval for signing the Host Collaboration Agreement and providing grant-in-aid to the Gujarat government if the bid is successful. The Commonwealth Games are expected to feature athletes from 72 countries and will utilise facilities including the world's largest stadium.The Cabinet has authorised the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports to proceed with the bid submission process. The approval encompasses signing necessary guarantees from various ministries, departments, and authorities to support the hosting endeavour.Ahmedabad has been selected as the proposed host city for the 2030 Commonwealth Games. The city's infrastructure includes the Narendra Modi Stadium, which demonstrated its capabilities by successfully hosting the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Final.The event is projected to draw a significant international presence, including athletes, coaches, technical officials, tourists, and media personnel. As per the note, this influx is expected to benefit local businesses and generate revenue for the region.
The Games are set to create employment opportunities across multiple sectors. Professional positions will be available in sports science, event operations and management, logistics and transport coordination, broadcast and media, IT and communications, and public relations."Beyond sports, hosting the CWG in India would leave a lasting impact boosting tourism, creating jobs and inspiring millions of young athletes," said a release by the Press Information Bureau."Hosting such a globally prestigious event will foster a strong sense of national pride and unity. It will provide a shared national experience and boost the morale of our Nation.""It will inspire a new generation of athletes to enter into Sports as a career option and encourage greater participation in sports at all levels."
