The most astonishing moment of the night unfolded in the 15th over of the Warriors’ innings. Oshane Thomas, brought into the attack, completely lost his hold over the over. His third delivery of the over had to be bowled five times after a series of no-balls and a wide. Each error proved costly. The first free hit was dispatched for six over deep mid-wicket, followed by another towering strike over square leg on the next free hit. Thomas then overstepped again, and Shepherd continued the punishment, putting the ball beyond the boundary once more. When Thomas finally managed a legal delivery on his fifth attempt, the result was no different. Shepherd sent it sailing over the roof at deep square leg.
In all, the over cost 33 runs, with Iftikhar Ahmed adding another six off its final ball. Shepherd’s clean hitting lifted the Warriors beyond 200, but the Kings’ reply was ruthless. Opener Ackeem Auguste led the chase with a blistering 73 off 35 balls, ensuring the side crossed the 100-run mark inside 10 overs. The target was overhauled in just 18.1 overs, sealing a commanding victory.
